Abstract
The object of this work is to analyze the surveillance by the French State on the Italian communist press published in France from the first journal to the Popular Front’s government (1922-1937). For communists members the newspaper was the privileged instrument of expression to organize the Party and make the propaganda, for that reason this press reflects the change of the communist politics. On the other hand, political and judicial power saw in communism a big enemy of the State as showed by the big censorship of the press. For these reasons through the actions of “Sûreté générale” and of PCd’I is possible to show French governments’ national and international evolution, and the same about communist movement, during a period of great tensions.
Cet article a pour objectif d’analyser la surveillance par l’État français de la presse communiste italienne publiée en France, de la première publication au gouvernement du Front populaire (1922-1937). Les journaux publiés à cette époque sont révélateurs des mutations de la politique communiste, car ces derniers ont toujours considéré la presse comme un instrument privilégié de communication, de propagande et d’organisation du Parti. La presse communiste a fait l’objet d’un contrôle sévère de la part des pouvoirs politique et judiciaire, qui voyaient dans le communisme un grand ennemi de l’État. Ainsi, au travers des actions menées par la Sûreté générale et le PCd’I (Partito Communista d’Italia), il est possible de montrer un aspect de l’évolution de la politique nationale et internationale des différents gouvernements français et du mouvement communiste, au cours d’une période de grandes tensions.
