. Bourova, &. Viara, and P. Dendale, Serait-ce un conditionnel de conjecture? Datation, 33 Van Dijk and Zeelenberg (2002) distinguish between outcome-related vs. person-related disappointment. Ortony et al. (1988) make a similar distinction between event-based and agent-based emotions. This distinction can be fruitfully applied to surprise and helps account for the connection between surprise and anger observed in the case of rhetorical questions, anger being a person-related emotion, Cahiers Chronos, vol.26, pp.183-200, 2013.
