Constructing reality: on the operation of validation in T.O.E

Abstract : The concept of validation occupies a central place in Culiolian linguistics and is sporadically encountered in the writings of enunciative linguists of other allegiances. Surprisingly, it is rarely, or at best, only partially defined. The aim of this article is to extend previous work on the operation of validation (Wyld 2010, 2012 forthcoming). Amongst points to be considered here, the question of how the operation of validation is marked in discourse (including the possibility for it to be preconstructed) and the extent to which its marking correlates with indicative finiteness will be examined.
