Confiné(e)s sous les cocotiers. Une enquête sur les conditions de vie des étudiant(e)s de l’université des Antilles pendant le confinement

Abstract : This paper presents the results of a survey on the living, studying and working conditions of students in the two poles (Martinique and Guadeloupe) of the University of the West Indies during the first period of containment planned to cope with the COVID-19 epidemic. The results obtained show that, in this critical context, the pedagogical continuity strategies implemented by the government and the local administrations generated an overload of work and a high level of dissatisfaction among the students of the two islands by highlighting a series of inequalities. Moreover, they have only partially achieved their educational objectives and have not been able to solve the lack of technical means and digital resources that the overseas territories suffer from.
